Description

Create an account of a trip as if you had actually taken it.

Instructional Purpose

To develop knowledge of a particular time and place; to practice narrative writing.

Applicability

Can be used for any present day location and for historical journeys as long as the resources describing those are available.

Limitations

Can't be used for creative writing about imaginary places unless those are established imaginary places (e.g., Middle Earth) that are well documented on the web.

Variations

Combine this with the Travel Plan pattern with this account being the end product rather than just the plan itself. Instead of specifying the itineray for them, specify the constraints and goals of the trip and let them design it.
