Fine Point #11: Give Text Some Room

When using tables you need to keep your text from being right on the borders or edges, much like Fine Point #9 did with images. This is especially important when using a background or borders.

This is another easy task to complete. All you need to do is adjust the padding of the table and you are set.

Examples:

See how your text can get crowded by the border?

The padding brings the text just enough off the line that it becomes easier to read.

Then you go and throw a color or background image in the table and the confusion continues!

Now your text is not on the edge of the color.
