Applicability

Can be used in conjunction with the reading of any story, novel or play.

Limitations

In most cases, this wouldn't work for fantasy or science fiction. The places to be studied should be real.

Variations

Several different tasks can be used within this design. One can examine the historical accuracy of a work (as in The Real Johnny Tremain). Or design something within the setting (F. Scott Fitzgerald Party). What holds these disparate lessons together is that they begin with the study of resources about a single piece of literature.
